As we bid farewell to two extraordinary individuals who have been invaluable members of our board since 2016, we want to express our deepest gratitude for your unwavering commitment, exemplary leadership, and invaluable expertise.
Your dedication to our organization has been nothing short of remarkable. Through your insightful contributions, thoughtful guidance, and unwavering support, you have helped steer our organization through challenges and successes alike, leaving an indelible mark on our journey.
Your passion for our mission and your tireless efforts to advance our goals have inspired us all. We are immensely grateful for the wisdom, experience, and enthusiasm you brought to the table, which have undoubtedly contributed to our growth and success.

The Board’s primary role is to guide strategic direction and oversee the operations of Sasuchan businesses. As the sole shareholder of Sasuchan, Takla Nation Chief and Council elect persons to the Board. Things to know if you want to express interest in joining the Sasuchan Board:
- Directors should possess a range of experience, skills, and knowledge that benefits Sasuchan and Takla Nation.
- The following criteria are to be considered when community directors are elected/appointed:
- Is a member of Takla Nation.
- At least 19 years of age.
- Capable of managing their own affairs.
- Not un-discharged bankrupt.
- Has broad business and/or professional experience with a demonstrated understanding of business and financial affairs, including the complexities of business organizations.
- Understands and has experience with First Nations communities and/or business structures.
- Demonstrates superior communication skills and the ability to comprehend and articulate complex business concepts and material.
- Is prepared to commit an average of six (6) hours/month to activities related to the Board.
- Is prepared to participate in and travel for Board or community meetings.
- Will provide a clear criminal records check.
- Is prepared to sign a Director’s Agreement and a Non-Disclosure Agreement.
- Agrees to actively participate in board training, including cultural competency, cultural orientation, best practices for boards, and the function of the Board and Sasuchan as it relates to Takla Nation.
