Sasuchan Development Corporation will receive an award from the BC Achievement Foundation for the 2022 Indigenous Business Award in the Community-Owned Business of the Year, 2+ Entities category.

The Indigenous Business Award (IBA) program honours excellence and focuses on the successes of Indigenous businesses and entrepreneurs. The award acknowledges one or more businesses owned by an Indigenous community with the intention of building a strong economic foundation for community members. The Community-Owned Business of the Year Award acknowledges one or more businesses owned by a community with the intention of building a strong economic foundation for community members.

Sasuchan Development Corporation, the economic arm of Takla Nation, owns and operates a diverse group of companies to provide a healthy and sustainable economy for Takla Nation and its members.

Chief John French will be accepting the award on behalf of Sasuchan at the 2022 Indigenous Business Gala Dinner & Award Presentation on November 29, 2022, in Vancouver, BC. A short film directed by Orenda Films on Sasuchan Development Corporation will be shown at the award presentation and will be available on SDC’s social media channels afterwards.
