Sasuchan Development Corporation is hiring for the position of Resource Operations Project Manager. SDC is seeking a highly motivated, organized and positive team player to join our team. Sasuchan’s head office is located in Prince George, BC, but this position will require weekly travel to the Takla territory, located approximated 350 KMs north of Prince George.

Reporting to the Resource Operations Manager, this position is primarily responsible for undertaking project related functions with the goal of delivering exceptional customer experience and industry leading quality. This role will be responsible to establish positive working relationships with the community and other stakeholders within the traditional territory, manage and monitor projects as assigned, review & verify accuracy of project deliverables and mange the community contractors’ program. With support from the Resource Operations Manager, will determine personnel and budgetary requirements for assigned projects. This position will provide strong leadership in all aspects of the work in accordance with all company and industry regulatory health, safety & environmental standards & procedures.

Primary Responsibility
 Undertake planning activities for assigned projects from conception to completion, monitoring and controlling the budget, scheduling, and communicating with project stakeholders appropriately to ensure satisfaction;
 Manage and monitor project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures;
 Negotiate, draft, and execute contracts and settle revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements;
 Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect the company’s interest and maintain respectable relationships with clients;
 Prepare and submit budget estimates, cost tracking, and work in progress tracking;
 Prepare invoices for Sasuchan Environmental according to contract specifications, compile and provide necessary documentation; liaison with client and SDC accounting team to resolve discrepancies and facilitate prompt payment;
 Write proposals and respond to RFPs;
 Manage the delivery of community contractor led projects within Takla territory, providing coaching and direction as needed for contractors;
 Identify and draft grant opportunities, oversee associated programs to completion;
 Organize, lead/attend and participate in stakeholder meetings;
 Build extensive and meaningful relationships with the community and other stakeholders within the traditional territory;
 Contribute, promote, and ensure that the activities undertaken maintain the social, environmental, and cultural values of the Takla Nation;
 Ensure projects adhere to environmental frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project;
 Create a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective;
 All other duties as assigned.

Experience & Technical Competency
 7 – 10 years of progressive experience in Natural Resource Management, Engineering, Commerce, First Nations Studies, Community Development, or related disciplines;
 5+ years previous project management experience managing projects up to $15M and demonstrated success in managing: Client Expectations, Scope, Budget / Forecast, Schedule, and Quality;
 Project management (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) designation an asset;
 Experience working in the resource sector an asset;
 Experience working with industry writing style such as grammar, sentence form, and structure as well as proposal writing;
 Tools & process – Extensive knowledge of and skill utilizing Microsoft Office suite of programs and project management apps;
Leadership – able to lead in accordance with SDC’s Principles and leadership model (creating a vision, building teams and developing people) such that it gets results. Utilizes direct reports effectively by allocating decision-making and other responsibilities to the appropriate person;

Working Conditions
 Working in remote locations for extended durations;
 Expect to spend a minimum of 20% of the work week in the Takla traditional territory, reviewing contractor work and SDC projects;
 May require long hours to meet specific deadlines, therefore flexibility in work schedule with the option to telecommute is necessary.
